The Best Winter Escapes From The UK For Under £250
From exotic getaways to the Canary Islands, to scoring a trip to the thrilling Big Apple, with great flight deals from Easy Jet, Norwegian Airlines and more, these are the best places to escape to for a little late-winter excitement ASAP.
Winter can be a tough time. With the holiday season over and warm weather still miles away, we have not much to look forward to except our January paycheck bringing us back from the depths of our great financial depletion over December. Overall, without the right stimulation, this time of year can become quite uninspired. But do you know what can make winter not so dull and flat? That's right: Holidays.
You probably were already thinking it anyway! We're just here to give you a gentle nudge in the right direction. The direction of the airport, that is. In all seriousness, now is the best time to plan a somewhat-spontaneous trip abroad, as the next couple months are always an opportunity for record low fights to places, in comparison with the rest of the year.
So don't let the fleeting opportunity pass to fly off into some undiscovered fun! We've been doing some travel research of our own and discovered great deals on a few places anyone would be desperate to escape to. Go on, take a look... we've already started packing as well.
From £93 return on Easyjet
As much as this city is known for being a fluttering and magnificent place to discover rich history and culture, it's also known for sometimes being unbearably hot. If you're keen on avoiding the peak temperatures and peak tourist season, then February is a great time to visit Marrakesh. Score tickets for a 5 day trip in early February for £93 from Easy Jet.
From under £250 return with British Airways
This constant bustling, brave and boast-worthy city has been calling out to us for what feels like forever. Well- now is the time to visit. British Airways is selling tickets to the city that never sleeps for just under 250 pounds.
From £177 return with WizzAir
Craving a little sun and sea? These return flights running from £117 with Wizz Air in early March may be your winter saviour. Soak up the rays, lounge in the sand, and some tequila in Tenerife... you're already dreaming about it now aren't you?
From £18 return with Ryanair
Increasingly becoming the Portuguese destination to visit in favour of Lisbon, Porto has a lot to offer. With clusters of colourful houses stacked against the coast, and all the pastels de nata you can ask for... we would easily pay twice the price of a train from London to Brighton to travel there. But luckily, with £18 flights from Ryanair (yes, we said £18)... you don't have to.
From £36 return with Ryanair
This tiny country in the Mediterranean packs a big punch. A 'punch' full of breathtaking views, a charming town centre and incredible food. While it won't be scorching in February and March, you can be sure to get some comfortable light-jacket weather that's a good 10 degrees warmer than us England-side. Worth paying a shockingly cheap £36 for, right?
