"Ceramic Oil Diffuser, Terracotta Essential Oil Burner For the home or spa These ceramic Oil Diffusers add to that romantic atmosphere while you relax in your bath after a long, hard day at work. You can use them in your bedroom or in fact anywhere in your home to spread the odour of your favorite essential essence. They are perfect for use in spas and last much longer because of the greater capacity of the bowl. My son asked me to make one for him. He also asked me to make a lid with an opening to fit the bowl - these are the result. We discovered that the lid causes most of the evaporating water to return into the bowl instead of escaping into the air, causing the water in the diffuser to last much longer while still allowing the oil to evaporate. We also discovered that it takes the water much less time to heat up without overheating. I have included a video clip of my gray diffuser. Take a close look at the top of the bowl to see the water evaporation that occurs without the lid. The brown/blue diffuser is glazed in brown and beige glazes. The beige glaze becomes a beautiful blue when it reacts with the brown glaze. I have no control over how much or where the blue will appear, but for now I'm soooo pleased with the result. Both diffusers are made from a beautiful red terracotta clay so I decided to leave one unglazed on its outer surfaces to expose this natural beauty. It is glazed with a dark blue/green glaze on the inside. There are disappointing moments and happy moments when opening a kiln and if you take a look at the last image you will see an example of the former. I assume that while loading the kiln, the bowl of this diffuser slipped slightly and remained that way during the firing, causing the glaze to firmly join both parts. The result is the \"Leaning Tower of Pisa\". This diffuser is, of course, not for sale. Well, I guess you win some and you lose some!! This item is handmade by me on the potter's wheel. This item is made from ceramic stoneware and is fired to a temperature of 1200 degrees celsius (2192 Fahrenheit). It is glazed with lead-free and food safe glazes and is ideal for use in the oven and microwave but not over an open flame. It is dishwasher safe. If the item is out of stock, I can make another one, but the new item may vary slightly in size. That's the beauty of handmade objects.
